The Coming U.S. Judgment

An Open Message to the United States

The Sin of a Nation

Godliness makes a nation great,

but sin is a disgrace to any people.

Proverbs 14:34 NLT

In the above scripture we are told that a nation acknowledging God is made great but a nation who sins against Him is disgraced. This is true because grace and forgiveness of sin is granted to a nation that acknowledges God, but a nation that does not acknowledge God experiences judgment instead of grace. This truth is demonstrated in the below scripture concerning Sodom.

Sodom's sins were pride, gluttony,

and laziness, while the poor and

needy suffered outside her door.

She was proud and committed

detestable sins, so I wiped her

out as you have seen.

Ezekiel 16:49-50 NLT

Sodom has become the poster child for nations that are judged by God. What were the sins of Sodom? Pride, laziness, being overfed and neglecting the poor and needy among them are what God list as Sodom’s sins. Nations act systemically and the policies, laws and social practices expressed as a system into creation are what God Judges them by.

However, God will spare a city, despite its sinful practices, for the sake of the righteous living in it. God would have even spared Sodom but He could not find enough righteous people whose very presence would have interceded on Sodom’s behalf.

And the Lord replied, “If I find fifty

righteous people in Sodom, I will spare

the entire city for their sake.”

Geneses 18:26 NLT

The failure of Church Going Americans

Another example of God lacking Intercessors is found in the scripture below. God is looked for someone to stand in the gap for Jerusalem but could find no one who could intercede for the city.

I looked for someone who might rebuild

the wall of righteousness that guards the land.

I searched for someone to stand in the gap

in the wall so I wouldn't have to destroy the

land, but I found no one.

So now I will pour out my fury on them,

consuming them with the fire of my anger.

Ezekiel 22:30-31 NLT

In days past the church in the United States stood in the gap and its very presence interceded for the nation. The church in the United States is no longer in a position to stand in the gap for the U.S. (see "A Tale of Two Sisters"). The United States is now without excuse or an intercessor for its many sins. The below scripture in Ezekiel describes the condition of the church in the United States in obeying Jesus. In this way the U.S. has been exposed to judgment for its sins.

You are very entertaining to them,

like someone who sings love songs

with a beautiful voice or plays fine

music on an instrument. They hear

what you say, but they don't act on it!

But when all these terrible things

happen to them -as they certainly

will – then they will know a prophet

has been among them.

Ezekiel 33:32-33

The Sins of the United States

Let me first say that the U.S. has done and continues to do much good in the world.

But all the good the United States does in the world, like feeding and clothing victims of natural and human disasters, will not spare it from judgment for its dark underbelly of wickedness. Here are just three examples:

[if !supportLists]1) [endif]Thousands of men women and children are oppressed, tortured and killed every year, and millions more live under threat by organizations who fight over the right to supply us with our illegal drugs. Unaccompanied orphans staggering across our border, fleeing some of the most dangerous cities on earth, because the U.S. has an insatiable appetite for illegal drugs. There is no amount of murder, rape or suffering in south America that will convince us to stop the demand for our drugs that violent organizations fight to supply.

[if !supportLists]2) [endif]The U.S. is the world's largest producer of pornography. Upwards of seventy percent of the world's pornography is produced in the United States. The connection between porn, human trafficking, slavery, kidnapping and the exploitation of the economically, socially and emotionally vulnerable makes us guilty of it all. A producer of pornography in the U.S. operates with more legal protections, freedom of action and citizen participation than a school teacher.

[if !supportLists]3) [endif]We spend the majority of our time, energy and discretionary money on entertainment and self-decoration. With the money the U.S. spends on entertainment, cosmetics and high end fashion we could fund our current budget on fighting homelessness many times over. Yet we are losing the battle as entire families live under bridges and look through our garbage for food.

The above examples are just three of what could be hundreds of issues like adultery, violence, deceitful business practices, justice denied to the poor and twisted by the rich, etc. I know all of these examples are complicated issues that require nuanced solutions and to state them this simply is to not acknowledge this fact. However, the excuses we create to justify these realities mean nothing to those that suffer because of them. The bottom line is that our nation expresses into creation a nihilistic culture that prioritizes hedonism over any of our attempts at doing good to our fellow man.

“Sodom's sins were pride, gluttony, and laziness, while the poor and needy suffered outside her door.”

Sound like any nation we know?

U.S. Judgment

Very soon the U.S. will begin to suffer an economic downturn. At first it will seem more or less what we have seen before. As it progresses it will become the worst economic crises of our lifetime. Coupled with the events and machinations common to the world, the U.S. will find itself degraded in its influence, affluence and position. The coming downturn will be worldwide but we will fair far worse than many. The U.S. will never fully recover and this will usher in a time in history that can be

Before you fit me with a tinfoil hat and claim that I am making some outlandish prediction about comets and Nostradamus, let me show you that what I am saying is not being stated in an informational vacuum. Many of the economist and traders that predicted the 2008 economic down turn are predicting this one also. For instance, respected and successful investors Jim Rogers and Peter Schiff are warning of a looming economic crises, and they are not alone in predicting the worst economic crises of our lifetime.

Most Christians will tell you that they believe we are living in the end times, but it is a mistake not to acknowledge the real effect that truth will have on our daily lives. Those who think that the prayers of the righteous will protect them in times of judgment are mistaken. The prayers of Grandma, father or righteous neighbor will protect only themselves in this coming judgment. The below scripture explains God's principle in protecting only those that acknowledge Him.

Then a message came to me from the Lord:

“Son of man suppose a people of a country

were to sin against me, and I lifted my fist

to crush them, cutting off their food supply

and sending a famine to destroy both people

and animals. Even if Noah, Daniel and Job

were there, their righteousness would save

no one but themselves, says the Sovereign Lord.

Ezekiel 14:12-14

Seek the face of God! This is the only protection in the coming calamity, and more importantly, the only salvation in the life after this one. I say this with the full understanding that the pride and arrogance that has led to this coming judgment will cause many to scoff at this message. I do not give it because I expect it to be widely accepted or believed. God always gives a warning and a way of escape when He sends judgment. My voice is just one of God’s warnings. I am answerable to God for giving it, but each of us are answerable to God for our response.
